Abolish ICE: A Letter to My Kids & to the Future

I have the privilege and the absolute freedom in my work to say publicly what I really think about this dire US political situation. I realize that not every one does.

This post is for my kids, friends, and neighbors & for the future.

ICE is out of control and must be abolished. There is no public trust, it's now compromised. We took out USAID in 90 days (an agency that SAVED millions of lives) so we know we can disband ICE. End it.

Start all over with common sense immigration reform. This ain't it. It's terror & it's tyranny. 

Sharing these photos to preserve the historic record of what's happening - people (including children) kidnapped by masked federal agents making $100K a year of our taxpayer dollars with complete disregard of due process of law, people being snatched from green card appointments, COURTHOUSES, daycares, restaurants, bus stops, bus lines, hospitals, grocery stores. More than 30 people who have died in ICE custody this year and American citizens shot and killed by masked federal agents. 

Kristi Noem, Stephen Miller, and Greg Bovino called the victims "domestic terrorists" and Bovino even said that that Mr. Pretti, a VA nurse was "brandishing his gun" & that brave agents "prevented a massacre." They are LYING to us. If you have a gun, Kash Patel and Todd Blanche say don't bring it to a protest. (Kyle Rittenhouse, anyone?)

POTUS said TODAY "you can't just walk around with guns." What they're really saying is that the 2nd amendment doesn't apply if you disagree with us.

DOGE laid off meteorologists and pediatric cancer researchers for this BS. DHS is promoting Nazi propaganda on official government pages. ICE agents have MASKS and no identification. They are secret thugs hired by this President to try to scare us all. That ain't working either. 

And yes, all this has been happening to Black, Brown, and Indigenous people for a very, very long time and white people are finally waking up. From slave patrols to the Trail of Tears to Jim Crow policing, this is who we are.

But it's NOT who we are going to be. WE get to decide. WE are the architects of the future. Enough is enough. 

Here in flyover country, people are angry, disgusted, and fed up. Call your members of Congress at 202-224-3121.

Tell them to stand on the right side of history. Say no to this lawlessness. Tell them to release the Epstein files. No to Greenland. No to Venezuela & the Presidential oil slush fund in Qatar. No to the ridiculous ballroom that will deface the White House. No to canceling the IPCC, climate obligations, WHO, and NATO. No to getting ridding of DEI, measles outbreaks, demonizing trans people, gutting healthcare subsidies, being complicit with Putin, all the corruption, the list goes on. 

Put some guardrails on this disaster of an Administration. We don't have until midterms. We need Congress to act NOW. They don't work for the President. They work for us.
