A few quick thoughts on the greatest and latest of fall, including what I'm reading, watching & making!
Fall is my favorite season. Yes, it does mark the beginning of my birthday season. It's also a time to let it go, get ready for winter, and to focus on gratitude.
Here are my latest fall Musings:
What I'm reading:
The Light Pirate by Lily Brooks-Dalton - compelling fiction about a family trying to thrive and survive in our potential climate future
True West by Betsy Quammen - an in-depth look at the mythology of the American West and today's reality
What I'm watching:
Murder in Big Horn - a haunting Showtime series by Montana film producers Ivan and Ivy MacDonald about missing and murdered Indigenous people. This is an intense series, but it's important to watch and bear witness.
"The Future of Work" TED talk by Jen Fisher about burn out and well-being in the workplace.
@mayasideas Stories on Instagram. Enjoying Eco-Hero (yes, she's profiled in my book) Maya Penn's Instagram stories on the intersection of art, fashion, and climate justice.
Favorite Recipes:
Loving this pumpkin spice latte recipe from the Kitchn. Be sure to read the recipes Tester's notes and add the black pepper. Seriously.
This is my favorite six minute chocolate cake recipe from the Moosewood cookbook. It happens to be vegan and it's simply delicious.
My latest #onegreenthings:
I'm using a LOMI kitchen counter top electric composter this winter to compost. Read my review of it here.
Choosing green personal care and cleaning products. Looking for ideas? See this unboxing video of Made Safe's holiday inspiration box.
