Heather White
President & CEO
Heather White is the author of 60 Days to a Greener Life: Ease Eco-Anxiety Through Joyful Daily Action (HarperCollins 2024) and One Green Thing: Discover Your Hidden Power to Help Save the Planet (HarperCollins 2022). Heather is a nationally recognized conservation and environmental policy expert and a frequent spokesperson in national media on climate, energy, and conservation issues. Heather more than 20 years of experience leading and advising non-profit organizations, including increasing organizational performance, managing change, guiding strategic planning, and directing innovative fundraising and advocacy campaigns.

In April 2021, she launched OneGreenThing, a nonprofit that tackles climate crisis overwhelm and anxiety through joyful daily action, inspiring culture change for policy solutions. She also serves as a consultant to help businesses, foundations, and nonprofits create a greener, healthier, and more equitable world through her consulting firm, Heather White Strategies, which she created in 2019. Â During her three-year tenure as President & CEO of Yellowstone Forever from June 2016 to June 2019, Heather led the organization to raise more than $50 million from philanthropy, retail, and educational programming, provided $18 million in cash grants to Yellowstone National Park, increased educational programming participants by 45%, and more than quadrupled its digital reach to 825,000 online supporters. As Executive Director of EWG, Heather nearly doubled annual revenues to $13.7 million, created the first strategic plan and subsequent rebranding that increased web traffic by 40% to 23 million unique yearly visitors, and directed campaigns that resulted in corporate action and policy reform by activating its two million supporters.

Heather has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Georgetown University Law Center and the University of Tennessee College of Law, Director of Education Advocacy for the National Wildlife Federation, Counsel to US Senator Russ Feingold (D-Wis.), a presidential campaign staffer and recount attorney for Al Gore, and an associate at Bass, Berry & Sims law firm. In 2015, Heather was named one of the "Top 20 Women Leaders in Sustainability" by Green Building & Design magazine and "100 Women to Watch in Wellness" by MindBodyGreen. She serves on several national nonprofit boards.
